On July 24th, a normal SoCal sunny day, several thousand food lovers gathered around over 60 food trucks vendors
for an AYCE street food summer tasting event. My kind of weekend night out.
People were fast walking while some were line cutting. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what drives them.
The beef was tender and well seasoned. I was tempted to get seconds, but a voice in me wanted me to save room for others.
Border Grill with Susan Feniger. Salsa on Feniger’s Green Corn Tamale. Delicious!
Prosperous Baby - Thai Spiced Pork spare ribs with red garlic sauce and lemongrass dressing.
Jungle Feast (roast duck or shrimp) - Spicy jungle curry with coconut milk and Thai spaghetti.
Mo-Chica’s selection included two choices: Smoked Salmon or Chicken.
Fresh spring roll served with peanut sauce and a bright smile. It’s true it can be healthy and tasty.
Fish & Shrimp Taco @Mariscos El Tetos.
While it’s simply beautiful and appetizing, the deep fried batter is heavier than it looks.
The Muchie Machine
While waiting for one of the endless lines, the interview of a first bite of the Dogzilla was sure a crowd pleaser.
Dogzilla’s dog consisted of a beef frank, avocado, bacon bits, grilled onions, furikake, Japanese mayo & teriyaki sauce.
The combination and the textures of the ingredients work very well.
The Deadly Syndrome
Now there is no fast walking fast enough to burn off these fast sugar intakes. Endless cone frosting!
Just when thousands of people started to show and line up in the field, we decided to relocate ourselves to the ice cream candy zone.
Vegan treats mint chocolate & Longboards’ addicting Ice Cream Bar
Mini donuts with choices of cinnamon sugar and powered sugar @The Fry Girl
My final bite, monsieur egg, was a whole breakfast plate in two bites.
The Warpaint
It’s no surprise after an event like this one, I was feeling full all the way to the next morning.
Well worth the experience, though.
